Kitchen Tips: Diced Peppers and Onions

.

If you are dicing a pepper or an onion and you don't plan to use the entire thing, dice it any way. Place the extra in a ziploc bag and pop it in the freezer. Instead of putting it back in the veggie drawer, in hopes of using it, you'll have it ready to use right from the bag.

Great tip! Now why didn't I think of that before now?!

I cut my peppers into strips and freeze them. I like them that way for sandwiches, and I can chop them for soups after they're frozen, too!

Sarah, I didn't always do it -- just prompted lately by more pepper usage! ;-)

Abby, I usually use them in a cooked dish after they are frozen. Do they thaw well enough to eat raw?
