Weekly Menu
We have a fun, but busy week ahead. Wednesday night is our Trick or Treat night. My mom will come over and she and I will sit on the porch, sip cups of hot tea, and pass out candy, while Doug will take the kids around. We always start the evening with a bowl of hot chili -- something the kids like, so they won't be tempted to skip the meal and eat a bunch of junk (they'll still eat the junk, but at least they'll have a good, hot meal in them first). Of course, on Halloween night we eat our chili in about the most unhealthy manner possible -- with big fat dipping Fritos!
On Saturday, I'm hosting a bridal shower. I haven't decided on a menu yet, but these cupcakes are definitely going to be on the table. Since the shower is mid-afternoon, I think we'll have a mix of savory and sweet foods, and likely none of us girls will need dinner after. The guys will have to fend for themselves.

OK...now I am embarrassed to admit that Frito Pies show up on our menu about once every 2 weeks. For the kids though, not the grownups.
All of that sounds delicious. Maybe I should just move in for the week :)
M,
What is Frito Pie -- is that something yummy that you scoop up with Fritos?
Barb,
Come on over. I'll get a room ready!
They don't have Frito Pies in Ohio? Oh the horror! : )
A Frito Pie just means you put Fritos in the bottom of a bowl, pour your favorite chili on top and sprinkle with cheese (we use colby jack). You let the cheese melt, mix it up and enjoy! They serve them at baseball games around here. Not sure where the name came from.
