Brandy Slush

.
This is one recipe I just love to have hanging around in my freezer. In the summer, when the kids go to bed (or not), and Doug and I are chilling out or watching a movie, I grab an old-fashioned glass, get the ice cream scoop, and fillerup. Top with a splash of Sprite and it's so refreshing -- a lovely summer nightcap!

Brandy Slush

9 cups water
1½ cups sugar
4 tea bags
12 oz. frozen orange juice
12 oz. frozen lemonade
½ cup whiskey
1½ cups apricot brandy

Mix water and sugar and bring to a boil.
Steep tea bags in hot water for 5 minutes.
Cool. Add orange juice and lemonade and alcohol.
Freeze for 36 hours.
Fill glass halfway with slush and add 7-Up or Sprite.

  1. That sounds ultimate refreshing. Summer is around here and now I am heading towards the refrigerator, you know why, don't you?

  2. Oh wow, that sounds delicious. An alcoholic Arnie Parmer, my favourite! :) I could see how that could make a Midwest summer evening! Hope you're recovering... thinking of you!

  3. Barbara,

I have a very similar recipe that's quite addictive, but I've never tried it with whiskey and apricot brandy. Mine calls for just plain brandy. Hmmmm, there's a liquor store on the way home from work . . .
